Good vibrations

Go watch The Departed and let Marky Mark insult his way into your heart like he did with mine. He was perfect. I don't think he'll ever have a more fitting part than this.

The movie's pretty good as well. HK remake or not, it's better than anything else that's come out this year. By a longshot.

i know you loved marky mark in this movie, right up your ally, i love this movie too but it had a couple holes in it, i guess thats scorsesse style, the one thing that bothered me was ending, i thought the rat dying on the rail was cheesy, but does the gold dome have any meaning? I was thinking of high society and its price, but noone seems to see its symbolism.

The gold dome looked like it was part of a church so i think it symbolized good to matt damon. He was an altar boy while growing up so I think he was a "good boy" before graduating from the academy and doing Costello's shit. He could see the gold dome from his apartment and I think it served as a constant reminder that what he was doing was wrong. Towards the end he didn't want to be a rat anymore, he wanted to distance himself from Costello and just wanted to live a straight life. I think scorsese just showed the dome again at the end to show he'd never have a chance to redeem himself or something to that matter.
