I am procrastinating

"I'm feeling kind of basic today. Top five side 1s, track 1s"...and so began another grand display of useless knowledge for John Cusack and crew in High Fidelity.

I guess it must've been a slow day at rollingstone.com because they compiled their Best First Songs on First Album list. They are:

Nine Inch Nails: “Head Like a Hole” on Pretty Hate Machine
The Stooges: “1969” on The Stooges
The Velvet Underground: “Sunday Morning” on The Velvet Underground and Nico
Oasis: “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star” on Definitely Maybe
NWA: “Straight Outta Compton” on Straight Outta Compton
The Modern Lovers: “Roadrunner” on The Modern Lovers
U2: “I Will Follow” on Boy
Patti Smith: “Gloria” on Horses
Eminem: “My Name Is” on The Slim Shady EP
Beck: “Loser” on Mellow Gold

The only problem I have with the list is that I've never heard some of them. But I definitely know the all-time top ten list of hidden tracks that start 8 minutes after the final song and last between 1 second and 12 minutes.
